Aside from being a travel buff, a wannabe photographer and a history lover, I also am a collector. I collect things that are special to my eyes
id est coins, stamps and some books from an author whose pseudonym is Bob Ong. It was 1998 (I was in first grade back then) when I started collecting old Philippine coins, then in 2002 I started ripping off stamps from our envelopes and greeting cards. Bob Ong books came late, I started buying and reading them when I was in first year college. Some people say that this hobby is just a waste of time and effort, but I say to them, "sorry but these are my priceless treasure, they're my life."

So these are my treasures. I started collecting coins after I watched the Philippines Money episode of Sineskwela. Most were given by my grandpa and my dad, some were given by my friends, some were picked along the way, some were stolen from my grade school classmate's project (Grade 2 Math Project: Philippine Money), some were purchased at Sta.Cruz. I also have some old Philippine banknotes.
I am still on search for the 1-Centavo Coins of the New BSP Series and the Pilipino Series. My Commonwealth Series still lack of 50, 20, and 1 Centavo coins
Oh, by the way, these are not for sale. To readers who have some coins to spare, please do give me some. To fellow collectors, I'm open for trading, just contact me ok.
I have foreign coins and banknotes too.
By 2013, BSP will launch the new coin series, I still got no idea how they will look like (kaya mag-tabi na kayo ng tig-iisang coin ng current coins natin, their end is near)

ReplyDeletetlgang rare na yung ibang coins dyan lalo na yung commonwealth series. at naghahanap ako ng matindi para makumpleto sya. pati din yung 1-centavo coin ng new BSP series.
Wow you have a very good coin collection. Most people who turned to be successful collectors of Filipiniana started early with stamps and coins. I think you are in the right path to become like them in the future.

hey Ivan i am a collector too both stamps,coins and notes. i used to have a huge collection of the three. but my notes collection was stolen in 1992 so i only collect other countries notes. For Philippine coins i lost interest collecting so on new years eve i put 12 old coins and other countries coins sa mga windows. i usually forgot to get them back after so nabawasan na. I can check if i have what you lack. i am more into collecting coins from other countries. stamps i keep only a one book, then on process pa lahat. no time haha.
