Manila Memorial Park
Aguinaldo Shrine
Tanauan Public Cemetery
If you still can't figure it out, I'll tell it to you now. I am actually hunting the graves of our past presidents who now rest in peace. It is for my Aims 100 Project goal #90.
90. all the Philippine presidents (in grave, past and present)
1) Emilio Aguinaldo
3) Jose Laurel
6) Elpidio Quirino
14) Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo
Now I'll put a strikethrough on President Elpidio Quirino.
I just made a visit at Manila South Cemetery a few hours ago. Through PNR, from Sta. Mesa to Vito Cruz station, I reached the place at around 2:45 PM. From the station, I walked the length of Vito Cruz Street to the gates of the cemetery. Of course, trikes are available if you're not fond of walking.

The only VIP's resting here are President Elpidio Quirino and Mayors Leon Guinto and Ramon Bagatsing.
At the very heart of the cemetery, lies the tomb of President Elpidio Quirino. |
President Elpidio Quirino (1948-1953). He's the 2nd President of the Third Republic of the Philippines. |
Mayor Leon G. Guinto (1942-1945), mayor of the war-time Manila. |
I was not able to locate Mayor Bagatsing's tomb.
This cemetery, though located at Makati City, is still part of the city of Manila, an exclave territory. |

The Uncomfortable Experience
While I was strolling around the streets of the cemetery, a man in white was tailing me. What?!
I'm very sure it's not a ghost or any other elemental creature. I walked with speed, turned right to a street with a group of old folks, but he keeps on following me. I was very nervous when his distance from me was about a meter. He then whispered, "pipiktyur-piktyur ka pa ha," and I found out that he's a gay guy. Yeeks, creepy indeed. I just ignored him until I made it out of the cemetery.
Before the clock strike 4 in the afternoon, I was already on my way to the train station.
