Mabuhay Aliwan Fiesta 2012

Am I still hearing those drum beats? Yikes, the much awaited street dance performances of the best fiestas from different parts of the country happened again yesterday from Quirino Grandstand to Aliw Theater. It was again a wonderful showcase of different cultures, devotion, history and products. Thanks to Aliwan Fiesta for bringing our country's best festivals into one big event.

I'm glad I was there to witness the stunning moves and colorful costumes of the 21 contingents of this year's Aliwan Fiesta. It was my second time watching this fiesta, and just like before, my jaw dropped with their incredible performances. It's alive, colorful and so wow!

Kalivungan Festival of Alamada, North Cotabato
Ala Eh Lambayok Festival of San Juan, Batangas

Pattaraday Festival of Santiago City, Isabela

Kalilangan Festival of Gen. Santos City

Boling-Boling Festival of Catanauan, Quezon
Zamboanga Hermosa Festival of Zamboanga City
Dayang-Dayang Festival of Pasay City
Halamanan Festival of Guiguinto, Bulacan
Lembohung Festival of Surallah, South Cotabato
Salakayan Festival of Miag-ao, Iloilo
Padang-Padang Festival of Parang, Maguindanao

All of the contingents of this year's Aliwan performed very well but my top favorites are the Buyogan Festival of Abuyog, Leyte, Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City, and T'nalak Festival of South Cotabato.

Panagbenga Festival of Baguio City
Buyogan Festival of Abuyog, Leyte
Taga-Giik Festival of Taguig City
Meguyaya Festival of Upi, Maguindanao
Mamang-os at Kambingan Festival of Tuy, Batangas
Sagayan Festival of Maguindanao
Lingganay Festival of Alangalang, Leyte
T'nalak Festival of South Cotabato
Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City

Pandang Gitab Festival of Oriental Mindoro

But in the end, it was again the Ilongos' Dinagyang Festival that took the grand prize of 1 Million Pesos. Congratulations.
